"May God bless the victims, their families and America."

US President, George W. Bush

To all of our friends who lost members of their families, their colleagues or their friends in the attack on Tuesday 11 September 2001...

To all of our friends in the United States who are strongly feeling the pain of their fellow citizens...
To all of our friends in the world, who have been hurting for us...
We want to offer you some relief, consider the following:

First, all of us are experiencing emotional pain because of the losses and the changes caused by the terrorist acts. Some of you will feel pain more intensely than others of course, depending upon your specific situation. We want each person to know that in stressful times like this, you are likely to experience a range of emotions, this is normal! You may find yourself not only sad, but exceedingly angry, also feeling helpless, hopeless or even guilty. Do not be surprised if your emotions are changing rapidly and know that this will become less intense with time.

Now, how to care for yourself when you are feeling this pain. We encourage you to talk about your feelings about this situation, to anyone and everyone that you are comfortable talking to. It's the talking itself, about your fears, hatred, confusion, etc., that helps you begin to feel better. (Don't worry that you're talking too much, it's essential.) Next, please begin to think about how you've felt secure and comfortable in the past. What is it that you do personally, that has always worked before. Do you exercise, take a walk, read, listen to music? This is a very personal matter and we encourage you to do what you know will work. The point is: be very good to yourself! Take care of all of you, including your emotional self during this period.

May you have peace in your hearts and minds, from the volunteers of WiredPatrol.
