Light A Candle [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] Psalm 94 1 O LORD, the God who avenges, O God who avenges, shine forth. 2 Rise up, O Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve. 3 How long will the wicked, O LORD, how long will the wicked be jubilant? 4 They pour out arrogant words; all the evildoers are full of boasting. 5 They crush your people, O LORD; they oppress your inheritance. 6 They slay the widow and the alien; they murder the fatherless. 7 They say, "The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob pays no heed." 8 Take heed, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when will you become wise? 9 Does he who implanted the ear not hear? Does he who formed the eye not see? 10 Does he who disciplines nations not punish? Does he who teaches man lack knowledge? 11 The LORD knows the thoughts of man; he knows that they are futile. 12 Blessed is the man you discipline, O LORD, the man you teach from your law; 13 you grant him relief from days of trouble, till a pit is dug for the wicked. 14 For the LORD will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance. 15 Judgment will again be founded on righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it. 16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for me against evildoers? 17 Unless the LORD had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death. 18 When I said, "My foot is slipping," your love, O LORD, supported me. 19 When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul. 20 Can a corrupt throne be allied with you-- one that brings on misery by its decrees? 21 They band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. 22 But the LORD has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge. 23 He will repay them for their sins and destroy them for their wickedness; the LORD our God will destroy them. God Bless all of you , especially the families of those that were lost in this horrible tragedy!! Christina Rancho Santa Mararita, CA USA - Sunday, September 30, 2001 at 05:53:09 (EDT)

Hi all, my name is Vicki, and I live in Oklahoma City. When in 1995, I watched our federal building crumble and burn, I could only sit by numbly for the first while, unbelievingly. Thinking nobody can hate this much, people are inherently good. Then as I came to realize, it had happened, and it was happening, and people Were dead, and dying, and hurting and crying, I couldn't say anything. I could only sit and watch as tears streamed down my face. But then, as Oklahomans do, and as Americans must do, I decided that although the doers of these evil deeds are real, and have done these terrible, unthinkable things, that my first thoughts were right. People ARE good, and that it was our duty to prove this again and again to those that want to see all that is great about this country destroyed. For it is not our huge buildings, or bridges, or any man made thing that is what makes America great, it is our spirit. I am lucky enough to work for Feed the Children, so I have a way to feel like I am helping with any disaster. I think that is what helps me heal from these evil things men can do. I have a way to help. New York and Washington, DC will rise out of these ashes. We WILL show these doers of evil that Americans cannot be beaten by terrorism, or hatred, or any evil thing. We are Americans, and with each other, our leaders, and our God, we can survive anything. The OKC Bombing showed McVeigh, his followers, the country, and probably most important, each individiual person that we are strong enough to handle whatever comes. I trust that the leaders of this country are doing what they have to do to protect us, its people. Our job at this point is to do WHATEVER is necessary to help New York City, and Washington, DC, and anyone else unable to help themselves thought these horrible deeds. Sometimes the best way for us to heal ourselves is to concentrate on helping someone else. I reach out with love to my fellow Americans, and to all people hurt by this or any other tragedy. I know what I went through in 1995, and I can't even begin to imagine what those in NY and Washington, DC are feeling. OKC was barely a blip when compared to these horrible, horrible things. I pray to God that He helps everyone do what has to be done, and I know that He had his hands on those airplanes, and those buildings, and all in them, as they went through this terror. As reality sets in, and the numbness goes away, the people involved in this will hurt, as the entire country is hurting. But whereas we have the insulation of distance, the New Yorkers and residents of Washington DC & the Pentagon do not. This will go past the core and beyond the deep. I just want everyone to feel the support from Oklahoma City, and from around the world. Thanks so Much Vicki Oklahoma City, OK USA - Saturday, September 29, 2001 at 01:25:04 (EDT)
